Learning a language... (poem by Olivia McMahon)

Learning a Language...

Learning a language

It's like playing football without a ball.
It's like a door without a handle
It's like a clock without time
But in the end
It's like you see the finish of this run.

Dimitris Alexandropoulos
Learning a language

It's like climbing on a very high mountain
with fallen rocks too
It's difficult for you
but sadenly you are on the middle
and another day you see a bettle
which tell you
you made it you are on the top.

Spiros tsitskas

Learning a language

Is like a book without end
A picture without meaning
A school without kids
It's like life without oxygen
When you learn languages a new world opens
And shines your life.

Mary dimtsiou
Learning a language

It's like being an acrobat with a broken leg
in a big world with my friend Greg
It's like being out in the early morning
feeling so boring
Exchanging a smile
feeling so happy
And then one dayit's like riding a bicycle
in a playground learning a language.

Vasiliki Bexi

Learning a language

Is like being in a dark room
without a flash lite
Is like playingchess alone
like trying to catch an invisible butterfly
like stoppin a car without brakess
But in the end
Is like lying on a cloud
like traveling to the city
you always wanted
Is like the rainbow after the rain.

Theodosia Bobou

Learning a language is like doing an exercise

of a million questions.

It's like being a student without books.

Like a human between aliens.

It's like being a fish without water.

Like a star without his light.

But then gradually, It's like playing with your friends

and then one day

It's like riding a

bike very fast downhill....... Grigoris Giagkoudis

Learning a languageIs like playing chesswith lots of pawnsand million kings. Is like an empirewithout a king or a queen.

Barbara Batsi............................
Learning a language is like doing a drawing
with many colours.
It's like solving a mystery without clues.
It's like reading a book without words.....
Here's a poem byMiltiadis Papabramidis for theEuropean Day of Languages.

Learning a language for one country:It's like doing a crossword without words. It's like like playing basketball without the ball.Learning a language is like drawingat first you don't know what you'll do, then you start drawing.Learning a words is like imagining which colouryou have to chooselearning and drawing is very special feelingyou feel joy, happiness.Because when you learn and when you drawyou achieve! Hara Passa..................It's like a singer without words singing.A clown without his red nose.An electrician without his tools.Catching the bus where it left you of your destination. And then, trade a smile. And one day it's like riding a horse.

Miltiadis Papabramidis..................
It's like a story without characters.
But then gradually
It's like a forest with animals.
It's like a birthday cake with candles on it.
It's like finding the whole world.

Konstantinos Gouliamtzis

It' s like having a gun without a bullet.Going to a war without hope.It 's like being a bird into a cage.

But then gradually....

It' s like sleeping without a fear for bad dreams.Being a horse on a huge plain. It's like being in a roller coaster without an end

Nick kaimakamis

It's like playing football without a ball

Learning a language is like a crown of a museum with a million diamonds which you can't handle. It's like going to a war without guns and sword cuts.

But then gradually it's like a war has finished and you are the winner, like the show window opens and the crown is all yours.

Helen Batsi

At the beginning person without love...A book without letters...But then gradually, It's like you getting all the love of the world and reading a book with beautiful stories. Dimitra Mavrokoridou
